ADE: Principal’s Vision and Core Values

My Vision

ADE will sustain excellence by focusing on student achievement. Our students will grow through rigorous academics, trusting relationships, equitable practices, and social-emotional learning in a safe, nurturing environment.

Student Achievement is Our Number One Priority

There is a great deal that goes into a successful school year, but everything we do must be toward the goal of raising student achievement. There will always be initiatives and programs, but we must never lose sight of the overall goal. We must begin with the end in mind; and the end is student achievement. Everything else we do should be a means to that end. Test scores matter, but student achievement is about more than that, it is about empowerment and growth.

We are Better Together

Students, staff members, parents, administrators, and community members must work together to develop and maintain a safe and dynamic student-centered learning environment. Productive, trusting relationships between all stakeholders are at the core of a highly effective school. Trusting relationships do not happen without intentional effort. Through collaboration we all become better and help one another grow. By seeking out partnerships with community organizations we add value to our school and give back to our community.

Expect Excellence in Teaching and Learning

Passionate, knowledgeable, highly qualified teachers are the core strength of our school. We expect our teachers to provide a dynamic, rigorous, and rewarding learning experience for students. Excellent teaching begins with strong relationships between faculty and students and is nurtured by collaboration among colleagues. Staff and administrators must have high expectations for themselves and their students; and work together to meet those expectations.

Everyone Needs Support

Everyone wants to do their best, but sometimes we just need a little more support to help get there. The key is figuring out what type and how much is needed for each individual. This applies to students, teachers, and parents. Students will receive targeted interventions. Teachers will receive feedback and professional development. Parents will have opportunities to learn how to best help their children. We will do whatever it takes to help everyone be successful.
