We are gearing up for the holiday season with many activities and projects throughout our building. We will conduct the Peppermint Village Gift Shop, sponsored by the PTA, the week of December 8th. This will provide our students with an opportunity to purchase gifts for family and friends. If you are willing to volunteer, please contact the PTA at (803)775-0857.

On Friday, December 5th our chorus will perform at the Sumter County Court House at 4:30 p.m. and at Swan Lake near the Heath Pavilion at 7:30 p.m. The annual chorus concert will be held at the December PTA meeting on Monday, December 15th, at 6:30 p.m. in the multipurpose room.

Santa Shop

Students will visit the Peppermint Village Gift Shop the week of Dec. 8-12 during their related arts Computer Lab time.  This is an opportunity for students to bring money to school to shop for Christmas gifts for their families.

Health Reminder for Parents:

A child who comes to school while infectious can spread germs to other students, teachers, and staff members.  If you are not sure whether your child needs to remain at home, please read the School Exclusions brochure created by the DHEC Bureau of Disease Control.  It outlines symptoms of illnesses that parents should watch for, and offers advice on what to do if you see these symptoms in your child.

Congratulations to Lisa Jackson, Our Teacher of the Year!

Do you recall taking a Career Interest Inventory in high school, answering a variety of questions about your likes, dislikes and temperament?  The survey then matched your answers to some  good career options.  I remember my results were: farmer, teacher and shepherd.  It's funny how those three are kind of related!  Yet that test simply confirmed what I already knew from a very young age:  I wanted to become a teacher.
